Why Genoa Tours
We're an independent comparison guide for Genoa and western Liguria – not a tour operator.
Tours are taken from the current Genoa inventory and ranked by verified reviews, not copied from another destination.
Genoa is a working port, not a sandy resort. City beaches are mostly pebbly or rocky, and some Riviera trips start outside Genoa.
The Aquarium, Rolli palaces and harbour are the core attractions. Cinque Terre is a long day trip, not a neighbourhood of Genoa.
Bookings are completed with GetYourGuide and the local operator, not with us.
Guides & tips
Honest answers to the questions travellers ask us most.
Choose Boccadasse for a short seaside stop and Nervi for a longer promenade and park walk. Here is how to combine them without rushing.
Read the guide →Take the train from Genoa to Camogli, then reach San Fruttuoso by seasonal boat or hiking route. Plan around weather and the final return.
Read the guide →The train is usually the practical way from Genoa to Cinque Terre. Learn how to plan the day, why a car is awkward and when a tour helps.

The historic centre and its narrow caruggi, the Rolli palaces, the Old Port and Aquarium, and the city’s maritime history. Current bookable offers are strongest for museum tickets, guided walks, food tours and whale-watching cruises.
Not in the classic sandy-resort sense. The city has a 30-kilometre coast, but local beaches and coves are mostly pebbly or rocky. Boccadasse, Corso Italia and Nervi suit a seaside walk better than a resort-style beach day.
Yes. Current offers include a roughly five-hour boat trip from Genoa and road transfers. Independent travellers often go via Santa Margherita Ligure and continue by local bus or boat; always check the day’s timetable.
They are possible as a long day trip, not a nearby city attraction. The national park recommends the train because roads and parking are difficult. A private tour appears in the current Genoa inventory, but many Cinque Terre products actually depart from La Spezia or Florence and are excluded here.
The current Genoa inventory includes cruises from the city into the Pelagos Sanctuary. Sightings involve wild animals and cannot be guaranteed; compare the stated duration and operator terms before booking.
No for the historic centre, Old Port and main museums. Genoa also has buses, metro, urban rail, lifts and funiculars. A car is often a burden in the dense centre; it becomes more useful only for a wider Ligurian itinerary.
